New emissions scenarios?

Forum 3: Climate change: What is science telling us? Is there a need to develop new emissions scenarios?

On 14 November, Professor Ross Garnaut hosted the third of a series of public forums, titled Climate Change: What is the Science Telling Us? Is There a Need to Develop New Emissions Scenarios? The public forums are designed to provide opportunities for discussion of research and policy on particular challenges posed by climate change at regional, national and international levels. The public forums are an opportunity for experts and the public to contribute to the work of the Garnaut Climate Change Review.

The public forum Climate Change: What is the Science Telling Us? Is There a Need to Develop New Emissions Scenarios? featured a number of speakers and a panel discussion on the following topics:
  • The global science of climate change;
  • New projections for climate change in Australia; and
  • Exploring global economic growth, emissions scenarios and how we are tracking globally.

This forum has now concluded. Slides from the various presenters are available below.

The Garnaut Review Secretariat invited interested parties to make submissions in response to the issues raised in this paper. All submissions have been made available on the Review website. Click here to view submissions..
